If you have a penchant for art books, you should definitely head for the Yvon Lambert bookshop. The legendary gallery owner met the greatest art stars, including Warhol, Basquiat and Twombly. When he opened his gallery in Paris, he focused on publications from the outset. A first series was Mot pour mot with On Kawara, Robert Barry and Daniel Dezeuze, followed by individual publications such as Critical Limits with Daniel Buren and 10 Works with Lawrence Weiner. In 1992, Lambert began an ongoing series of limited-edition bibliophilic editions entitled Une rêverie émanée de mes loisirs. For this he invited artists who, alone or in cooperation with an author, would design a book completely according to their own ideas. Each book thus became a work of art in its own right, published as an edition of 150 copies.
