The Wirth von Amerang is a supposedly old inn that can’t be overlooked in the middle of town with its large maypole, which the players of FC Bayern Munich and the club badge adorn. If you go inside, the first thing you notice is the uneven stone floor and the atmosphere in the “Zechnstube” is marked by the twilight and the crackling fireplace. This all seems very authentic, but was only made “old” 15 years ago by the owner Bernhard Weber. But that doesn’t change the authentic menu, which changes seasonally and always mixes Bavarian specialities with Mediterranean flavors. We recommend the Ameranger Pfefferschmankerl, pork and beef fillet strips in green pepper cream, which are served in a sizzling cast iron pan. Also the “Arme-Leute-Essen” vinegar dumpling with onions and chives, normally composed of leftovers, is excellent with its perfectly seasoned vinaigrette. On weekends you should definitely reserve here!
