The wide park of Villa Cimbrone at the southern end of Ravello is outstanding. The manor dates back to the British Lord Grimthorpe, who purchased the property in 1904 with only a few remains of a medieval palazzo. With a lot of artistic skill, the complex was transformed into a scenic paradise. This place is a romantic perfection in itself, especially when you look out over the unbelievably blue Tyrrhenian Sea from the statue-decorated “Balcony of Infinity”. From 6 p.m. – when the atmosphere is at its best – the gardens are reserved for hotel guests. If you are lucky and reside here, you should enjoy this pompous setting with a glass of rosé on the restaurant terrace.
