The hospitality of the Leroy family is hard to beat. As soon as they arrive, Gilles Leroy comes running out of the house with a beaming smile to greet his guests. Together with his parents and two brothers, the Belgian opened the small, fine boutique hotel Toile Blanche near Saint-Paul de Vence twelve years ago and, embedded in the gentle hilly landscape, created an oasis of peace with a gigantic garden, sun terrace and pool. When the sun disappears behind the mountains here in the evening, you should have a refreshing mojito, the most popular drink at the cocktail bar, on the gleaming white garden chairs. The cosmopolitan lifestyle of Toile Blanche is created by the Leroy Brothers, who work as artists in their studios in Shang hai during the winter months. Not only the tasteful interior and the cuisine bear their signature. In the evening, they also put on their chef’s aprons, explain the menus with conviction and personally serve their innovative creations.
For breakfast, which is best enjoyed on the sunny terrace with a view of the greenery, they serve freshly picked figs from their own garden, crusty baguettes from the boulangerie and fine goat cheese from the farmer.
