Rustic wooden tables, a pure and modest design, bare walls, a couple of candles, all in a comfortable atmosphere among an interesting Parisian crowd are the essence of Bertrand Gebaut’s well known restaurant. Charming waiters in midnight blue aprons serve the guests of the Septime all delicacies it has to offer. They delight with small starters including anchovies, red beet, and egg on almond butter, entrees featuring fish with greens and smoked lemon pistachio sauce, and for dessert the ricotta mousse with pear sorbet. Very delicate flavors and a taste that will linger on your palate. The cooks can be seen as they virtually twirl around in the open kitchen. The lunch menu with three courses can be had for a very fair 28 Euro, but make sure to book a table in advance. Septime La Cave is the wine bar around the corner. It carries select wines and small dishes for those who want to get the Septime enjoyment on short notice. Those in the mood for fish can try the seafood restaurant, Clamato, next door. Same owner, but a little more casual.
