The well-dressed, often somewhat older guests at the Ristorante Stazione “Da Agnese e Adriana” are mostly regulars, they know each other, chat about their last holiday and the experiences of the day. The ambience is elegant and dignified. The tables in the dining room are covered with white linen, the walls are cream-coloured and the furniture is all in a lovely country house style. Waiters in white shirts and bow ties serve the guests attentively – you immediately feel that you are in one of the best restaurants in Switzerland. For a change, you won’t find polenta on the menu, but instead piccata “Agnese” of veal with fresh mushrooms and risotto, veal escalope with lemon sauce or sea bass fried with artichokes, olives and capers. From the dining room and the adjoining terrace you have a wonderful view of the valley and the mountains. You can also enjoy this view and the country house style from some of the 16 rooms. The rooms are decorated in different colours and some have a balcony or their own fireplace as well as a modern bathroom, TV and internet. The restaurant/hotel, which owes its name to its location directly at the village railway station, is better known to most as Da Agnese (at Agnese’s) – the owner and long-time cook, who now runs the business together with her daughter Adriana.
