There is a new favorite hotel address in Palma: the Portella Hotel, in the heart of the old town. The historic city palace was once the residence of painter Joaquín Torrents Lladó and has been lovingly restored by Inés and Enrique Miró-Sans. The Miró-Sans family is no stranger to the Spanish hotel business, as they also own the beautiful boutique hotel Casa Bonay in Barcelona. The 14 individual rooms all speak for themselves, with lots of natural materials and local handicrafts. Simply wonderful retreats. The best way to start a day at Portella is with breakfast on the roof terrace with a view of Palma’s cathedral and fresh delicacies from the market. Incidentally, if you are planning a longer stay in Palma, you can also book rooms with small kitchenettes at the Portella. The hotel also has a hammam and a fitness room.
