Pasticceria Ranieri Pasticceria Ranieri: a beautifully ornate sign with a long tradition, placed at the entrance of a small store with a bakery. The highlight of this pasticceria is certainly the “do di petto” cake, a shortcrust pastry speckled with toasted pine nuts and unexpectedly filled with chocolate mousse and custard. But the quality here is consistently high, whether it’s the cream puffs (the lemon cream ones are special) or other cakes like the Fiordibosco (a meringue dome with a raspberry and vanilla cream center). What else should you try? Easter pigeons, chiacchiere (fried and then baked or dipped in dark chocolate) and tortelli (with custard, zabaglione, chantilly, lemon or chocolate). At Christmas time, however, definitely the panettone, it is best to even reserve one, because it is also sought after by the Milanese and is, of course, a nice Christmas souvenir.
