This neo-gothic building complex, with its 691 rooms and an impressive 96m high dome, spreads itself over more than 200m along the Danube shoreline and is Hungary’s largest building, in which the parliament has its domicile. Amongst others, the painting “Taking of Land”, by the most famous Hungarian painter of his time, Mihály Munkácsy, hangs on the wall in the congress hall. Paintings of Károly Lotz and statues from György Kiss decorate the walls following the grand staircase.
