The Naschmarkt is an experience no one should pass up. Saturday mornings at the market are worth a visit for the incomparable atmosphere and to inhale the aromas of fresh fruit, spices, grilled meat and fresh-baked bread. Shopkeepers, stalls and snack stands offer everything the heart may desire. They are lined up next to one another on the Viennazeile between Kettenbrückegasse and Karlsplatz. At the price of a little pushing and shoving, enjoy Narschmarkt classics like Melange, or an Aperitivo at Do-An or the Deli next door. For those who go for Viennese coffeehouse charm, head to Drechsler, a Narschmarkt institution, which received a loving renovation in 2007 from Terrence Conran. For good fish that you eat on the spot, head to fishmonger Umar. The tiny gourmet kiosk Urbanek is much loved for its ham or cheese snacks over a glass of wine.
