The Milu is an oasis in Florence. It sits quite unobtrusively among the venerable buildings of Florence such as Palazzo Strozzi. But even the foundation of the Milu can keep up – because the roots of the building go back to the year 1400. The architect David Ohayon has managed to bring lightness into this building with bravura. One of the hotel’s eye-catchers is definitely the glass elevator that floats up a narrow staircase, which was simultaneously created by Israeli curator Carmel Ilan as a vertical gallery and displays contemporary installations, photographs and objects. But it is not only the view inside that is spectacular; on the roof terrace a bird’s eye view of Florence awaits you. The Milu is a centrally located city hotel that offers more than just beautiful rooms.
