A young team in Sankt Gallen had a great idea: to convert military buildings that have just been quasi “secularized” into a hotel that makes modern city dwellers happy. You have succeeded. The military cafeteria (which is called that because there really was a military cafeteria in there in the past) has 21 rooms. All the design classics in the rooms are stylish and refreshing: Lamps, armchairs, side tables – all arranged very tasty. And the structure of the rooms has not really been touched. With a sure hand the team has chosen exactly the right colours! Light and grey tones dominate. The restaurant looks unspectacular at first, surprised with breaks, such as the graffittily painted counter. The floor boards are visibly old and refurbished. In the military academy you can get everything from breakfast to dinner. The menu has a daily changing lunch menu (“There’s food, what there is!”), snacks such as tapas, mezze or antipasti and for the evening simple, classic menus. Vegetarian food is a big part of the kitchen.
