Mia Mélange is a small homdecor label founded by the designer Mia Danieli in Stellenbosch. Mia comes from a multicultural family, her mother is Swiss, her father Israeli and her husband finally brought her to South Africa. Throughout her life Mia has travelled a lot and thus immersed herself in all kinds of cultures, which is still the inspiration for her designs today. During her design studies in Israel she developed her love for fabrics and this is exactly what the name of the label refers to. “Mélange” stands for “blend” and describes a type of yarn commonly used in the textile and fashion industry, typically made of different types of fibres or differently coloured fibres. The small boutique offers a combination of home décor and accessories with a strong emphasis on the generous world of textiles.
