The location of Masseria Coccaro, on a sun-bleached hill overlooking the Adriatic Sea, surrounded by countless olive groves, is typical of Apulia. However, the good view from the Masseria is no coincidence, as the Masseria was originally a watchtower. The associated restaurant is in typical farmhouse architecture with a starry vault and pergola with lushly flowering bougainvillea and jasmine on the terrace. Whether the weather is good or bad, this is a wonderful place to sit. Mediterranean regional cuisine is served, and you quickly realize that the chefs have a passion and talent for finding the most excellent products from Puglia. Podolico beef, lamb, Apulian cheeses such as burrata and canestrato all come from organic farms in the surrounding area. Here you will also find the first wild porcini mushrooms, crispy asparagus and, of course, all kinds of Puglia’s seafood specialties on the menu.
