The Luna Convento is full of history. The convent, which stands on a promontory on the edge of Amalfi, was founded in 1222 by Francis of Assisi. But also in respect of who resided here, it is a historical place, because Richard Wagner, Henrik Ibsen and Simone de Beauvoir already went in and out of this institution. Even today, the former monk’s cells are still furnished with antique furniture, colourfully tiled floors with heavy flower patterns. Breakfast is served in the cloister. You can find peace and quiet in all kinds of places, be it the house chapel or the beautiful inner courtyard with its Arabic columns and the meditatively splashing fountain, and last but not least, of course, in the endless sea-view that one can enjoy from up here.
