The address of the Legatoria Alberto Cozzi has remained unchanged since 1908: Via del Parione. The founder behind this marvellous craft shop, Alberto Cozzi, used to bind books and produce artistic papers in this corner of Florence, near the central Via de’ Tornabuoni. In Florence, the name Cozzi has been synonymous with bookbinding, paper marbling and faithful restoration of centuries-old volumes for decades. Fortunately, the children and grandchildren have taken over this ancient art – despite the new technologies – and the passion has been passed down from generation to generation. Today, in addition to bookbinding, antique books are bound and restored and individual leather objects and hand-decorated paper objects are produced using old techniques, such as the now rare marbled paper works. Not only beautiful to look at, but also a perfect place to buy souvenirs or give yourself a present.
