On the wall of the Gelateria L’Artigianale, one gelato award follows the other. But no wonder, the ice cream pioneer Stefano Bagliere has built up a true gelato Mecca with his ice cream parlour in Pozzallo. There is not only an incredibly large selection of ice cream variations – from sorbet to granita to classic ice cream – but also all the flavours you can dream of. The more than 20 different varieties are produced exclusively with natural flavours and according to a family recipe that has been consistent for decades. And the fact that most of the people in the queue are locals is also a good sign. If you ask the locals about their favourite ice cream, you will usually hear pistachio, orange and nero fondente!
