This house does not only exhibit contemporary art, but also reflects it. Kunsthalle Basel has been an international institution for contemporary art since 1872, and not only during Art Basel. It surprises with its bold, unconventional experiments and a diverse program that features exhibitions, readings and discussions. The Italian Micol Assaël electrified visitors and Lebanese Mona Hatoum arranged glass marbles on 200 square meters of parquet flooring. Apart from its renowned pieces, the museum is known for its promotional platform for young artists.
