Everything just looks different here. The concept is also refreshingly new. The cuisine is local with a touch of American comfort food, a point underscored by the English-language menu. Although everything is organic, it’s not hippy: you’ll find beef tartar, mashed potatoes, and salted herring with avocado and raspberries, which is already approaching exotic for this menu. Other than that, everything looks like it just came from the farmer’s market. The interior is made of simple, raw wooden planks and decorated in domestic style with books and framed pictures. In summer, dine and relax in the wonderful courtyard. Katz Orange draws its fair share of scenester clients, but more conservative guests also feel the magic pull of this fresh idea.
