Around 100 gardener families grow vegetables and herbs on the island. The climate is good, the landscape beautiful and in addition there is the bakery “Laib & Seele” on Reichenau, which is known all around Lake Constance. Whoever makes an excursion to Reichenau comes from the mainland to the peninsula via a long black poplar avenue. Admittedly, on Reichenau you can mainly admire and also buy vegetables and herbs – otherwise there is a nice old town and a few churches – for a trip on a day with nice weather this can be enough. Millions of bus travellers cannot be wrong.
