Il Salumaio di Montenapoleone a historic restaurant opened in 1957 in via Montenapoleone and now housed in Palazzo Bagatti Valsecchi, one of the most beautiful and prestigious buildings in Milan. The ambience, consisting of two rooms, is very chic and elegant, the first room is entirely made of wood, the second (and most beautiful) comes from a horse stable. And then there is the courtyard of the castle, which opens as soon as the warm weather arrives. Dining here is probably the most romantic thing you could ask for in Milan. The menu offers a selection of simple but well thought-out Italian dishes: crespelle, tortellini al ragù, lasagna, cotoletta, fine charcuterie, meat and fish dishes, and an excellent wine list. Il Salumaio di Montenapoleone is open from morning to night, you can have breakfast in the cafeteria or opt for a quick lunch. Impeccable service is the motto for all who discover this magical place. Milan is often considered a city of business, of “I’m in a hurry, I don’t have time”, but when you take a seat in this “picture” everything stops, you breathe a sigh of relief and you are treated to delicious dishes, simple but at the same time refined and of high quality.
