In Hûs Nr. 8 it feels a bit like eating in a natural history museum, because the rooms breathe one hundred percent old-school authenticity. The house is a typical example of the Walser architectural and was first mentioned in a document in 1760. Since 1927 the premises were used for trading, and a certain Filomena Walch (born Schuler) opened a general store here, which is still legendary in Lech today. It was not until 1997 that the house was converted into a restaurant. During the reconstruction, great care was taken to preserve the originality of this monument.
The atmosphere in the guest rooms is very cosy, the wooden floors, walls and ceilings radiate a welcoming warmth. The menu is no exception and thus also takes up the authentic and original: Walser cheese soup, a very fine baked chicken, Kässpätzle or typical Walser specialities such as Walser Blutwurstgröstl. In addition, Hûs Nr. 8 has a good reputation for its various fondue dishes and also for roasted duck.
If you want to know what it was like in Lech hundreds of years ago and at the same time want to enjoy the typical cuisine, you have to go to Hûs Nr. 8. Be sure to make a reservation!
