In the middle of Los Feliz and near the interesting Sunset Junction there is now a pretty boutique hotel, the Hotel Covell. In its five rooms, it tells the story of the life of the fiction writer George Covell, from his childhood in Oklahoma, his artistic years in New York to literary success – and is based above all on the life of the owner Dustin Lancaster and interior designer Sally Breer. She dipped the house from the 1930s in warm amber tones and provided it with lots of wood, finely woven carpets, design pieces and lots of vintage glamour. But don’t forget the practical: there is a cichenette in every room. Perfectly located between Hollywood and downtown, it is a beautiful retreat surrounded by trendy restaurants and bars.
