Uphill you find Montmartre, downhill are the L’Opéra and the large shopping centres. And if you’re lucky you’ll have a view on the Eiffel Tower. The 30-roomed boutique hotel was furnished by the owner Nadine Flammarion, who comes from a famous publicists-family, which published Zola, Maupassant and many other great French authors. She combined designer and second hand pieces with loud colours and many, many books. You can flip through these anywhere, but it’s nicest in the tranquil salon, which also has a small bar. Or during breakfast with fresh orange juice, whole grain bread and home made cake. If you travel with children the suite on the ground floor is ideal, as it has access to the small backyard.
