Surrounded by bright green meadows, brown fields and gnarled oaks, the Rensow estate stands simple and elegant. It is a large white baroque building from the year 1690. One could think that not much has changed here since then, but that is deceptive. Knut Splett-Henning and Christina Ahlefeld-Laurvig are to thank for the fact that the manor house looks like it did back then. The couple bought the estate in 2002, when it was about to collapse. They renovated it with old clay bricks, floorboards from the attic and other materials that were as true to the original as possible and a lot of attention to detail. Today both the family and their guests live here. The four holiday apartments for two to four persons were furnished with perfection and a great taste by Gutsherrin. Wide wooden planks, finely crafted wing doors, heavy leather sofas, playful golden mirrors and filigree chests of drawers as well as the enchanted garden in front of the door in which dainty deer and beautiful peacocks wait, ensure that those who spend the night here actually feel like nobles from days long gone.
