The Crosby Street Hotel is very British indeed. The house belongs to the London Firmdale chain and is definitely one of the most extravagant houses in SoHo. From day one, the 11-storey loft-style new building with an interior suitable for museums and high ecological standards was internationally regarded as Manhattan’s new hot spot. Co-owner and designer of the hotel, Kit Kemp, has created an atmosphere of luxurious understatement and homeliness. The combinations of antiques, works of art – the steel head in the foyer was created by artist Jaume Plensa – and modern design with first-class materials are a real treat for aesthetes! And of course, a highlight is getting up in the morning to watch the sunrise over the Brooklyn Bridge from the rooms.
