The Corner Bar is the adjoining restaurant in the Nine Orchard Hotel, where guests can get a good granola and pain chocolate in the morning, but where non-hotel guests, trendy New York locals or newcomers can also stop for lunch and dinner. If you sit here, you should definitely take a look at the beautiful painted motifs by Happy Menocal on the dark pine wood. Chef Ignacio Mattos’ cuisine is based on a classic American concept, but also borrows from corner bistros around the world, creating dishes that are indulgent yet approachable. The Corner Bar is a chameleon throughout the day, serving French-inspired breakfasts and classics like oysters and spaghetti pomodoro for lunch and dinner. The drinks programme is impressive and makes a great prelude to an evening in the adjacent Swan Room – which, by the way, is not to be missed.
