Already in the 19th century it was known that this place was something very special and therefore the painter Julius Ester founded the summer academy here. The Chiemgauhof has belonged to the Amdahl family since 1952 and Sabine and Christof Amdahl have been in charge for 10 years and have made it a very comfortable place. Here history and modern lightness are perfectly combined. The story is represented by photographs of opera houses in which Heinz, a well-known baritone, sang and in the pictures of the Chiemsee painters in the restaurant. The rooms are thematically furnished, are called buoys, hunting or alluvial wood rooms and live through the combination of warm colours with antiques and found objects. There are beds made of wood from the old footbridge. From balconies or sitting corners in the windows of the rooms you have a wonderful view of the lake.
The atmosphere is characterized by fresh flowers, garden tables under the trees on the lake shore. You won’t find a better place for breakfast on Lake Chiemsee! Enjoy the eggs, the cheese and the sausage together with a wonderful fruit buffet.
