Sunday afternoons at four o’clock the Chalet Ciro is absolutely packed – people and cars are all you can see. The locals squeeze in to drink a coffee and to enjoy one of their home made delicacies form their own pasticceria. At the bar Naples’ most famous coffee makers work (barista), the redheaded Angelo, the king at his coffee machine. For the people of Naples, he makes the best coffee in town. On weekdays it isn’t as packed any more. The Chalet turns into the meeting point for taxi drivers, people from the neighbourhood and the wealthy from Posillipo, who come here on their way to work, for coffee and a brioche.
