This traditional restaurant serves authentic Catalonian cuisine in a rustic space. For gourmands with a taste for masterful tapas, fatty delicacies and big, bold wines, Alonso is your temple. Particularly tasty here is Spain’s food of choice, jamón (ham). Just smoked or dried, the ham hocks hanging from the ceiling are brought down with much pomp and circumstance and paper-thin slices shaved off. Seranno ham is a delicacy, which comes from Andalucia in the south where the swine are fed nothing but acorns. It is then no surprise that this restaurant is also very popular with Spaniards. Since one wouldn’t dare begin dinner before 10 at night, a small platter can be arranged around the earlier northern European dinner time.
