When in Barcelona you shouldn’t miss the opportunity to while away an evening over a plate of fresh fish on the city’s waterfront in Barceloneta. Can Majó stands out from the other area restaurants not only because it is a bit less touristy since it is hidden off of the main drag, but also for its excellent cuisine. Just one glimpse at the display case filled with frutos del mar and you know that just about everything is possible here. The kitchen is known for its homemade fish croquettes and the Fideua, a type of paella made with thin noodles and cooked in black squid ink. The high quality is reflected in the regulars who clearly know their fish. The owner Enric is an experienced epicurean who with charm, a watchful eye, and the help of his staff ensures each guests enjoyment. Sadly, the Can Majó was recently renovated. It looked so wonderful in sleek light-blue and white, but in the summer you will want to eat outside on the lively “placa” anyway
