In the heart of the Medina, Café Des Èpices is a must to relax from strolling and bargaining. The best way to reach the café is from Djemmaa el Fna. From the north side of the café you walk about 400 metres in a north-easterly direction and halfway you reach the Place Rhaba Kedima, where spices, wickerwork and traditional beauty products are sold. Café Des Èpices extends over three floors, making it one of the tallest houses on the square. Admittedly, this place is anything but an insider tip, but the relaxed and cool vibe on the roof terrace is simply priceless. The interior does without Arab kitsch and by no means denies the Moroccan tradition; on the contrary, the Tadelakt floors are hard to overlook. If you sit on one of the chairs on the roof terrace, you should indulge yourself with mint tea, fresh salad and a crépes afterwards!
