All the rumours surrounding chef Max Roach’s Café Cecilia are true: the interior is beautiful, the seasonal dishes inspired by his mother’s home cooking are exquisite, and it attracts quite a sophisticated crowd. Café Cecilia, by the way, is named after Max’s grandmother. The place has become a darling of the restaurant world in no time. Given Max’s CV, however, this is not surprising: The River Café, St John’s, Spring – he cites all these restaurants as inspiration. But no dish has influenced him more than what his mother Odette prepared when he was growing up in Dublin. And most importantly – you go to Café Cecilia for lunch and breakfast. Definitely try it out!
