The Ca’ di Dio is a luxurious 5-star hotel in a converted historic building dating back to 1272. The designer Patricia Urquiola has brought this Venetian jewel back to life as part of an extensive restoration project. An ancient building with perfectly preserved frescoes, light-coloured travertine, marble and stucco paired with all the comforts of modern times. There are two restaurants, one in the absolutely peaceful inner courtyard, the other with a spectacular view of the lagoon and San Giorgio. A fully equipped fitness and wellness area, a reading room for quiet moments and even a private jetty. The location is perfect for exploring the city. Important sights such as St Mark’s Square and the Biennale are in the immediate vicinity. Some rooms face the hotel’s quiet inner courtyards, while others offer a view of the lagoon and passing gondolas. Venice doesn’t get any better than this.
