The charming open-air garden restaurant Berg 8044 on Zürichberg is a true urban oasis. And that’s what the Association for Public Health, which owns the property of Berg 8044, calls the area. Only a 15-minute walk from the zoo, it offers herb gardens, Tai Chi and yoga classes, a sauna, and the picture-perfect Restaurant 8044, run by restaurateurs Eero and Cecilia Meili, who have opened their restaurant in the middle of a beautiful flower meadow. When the weather is nice, they serve their tavolata of mountain, lake, forest, and meadow. There is definitely charm everywhere, the ingredients are all local, the dishes could have come from grandma’s kitchen and the hospitality could not be warmer.
