Small, fine and chic is the Bakeri bakery in Williamsburg, with a tiny terrace in front and a backyard with a small fish tank, dreamy tiles, wonderfully weathered display cases – and a delicious range of bread, pastries and cakes. Everything is homemade, of course, as are the jams and even the butter. The coffee is brewed with beans from Counter Culture Coffee, accompanied by a brioche with candied ginger or a chocolate biscuit with rosemary and sea salt – to kneel down! Just like the Coffee Cake. You can safely ignore the far less exciting sandwiches.
