The district “Akihabara” (秋葉原) in the center of Tokyo, is considered the heart of the Japanese electronics trade. A wide range of technical products is offered along the shopping streets, ranging from video games and computer hardware to household robots. In recent years, Akihabara (Akiba for short) has also established itself as the center of Japanese Otaku culture, with a large number of anime and manga shops settling in the area. The district, known as “Electronic Town”, has the highest density of neon signs in the world and is one of the most popular excursion destinations in Japan.
