Rather invisible from the outside, the 893 Ryotei turns out to be a rather noble shed. Behind it is nobody unknown, more precisely the gastronome Duc Ngo, who enriched the Kantstraße 17 years ago with the first stylish Sushi-Bar of the city. This time he succeeded in creating a fusion of restaurant and bar, a dim light, an open kitchen in the middle, an endless counter and numerous tables around it. A Japanese cuisine is served that does not shy away from international influences and sometimes conjures up very exciting variations. Our favourites: the tartar, where the char caviar provides a salty ink, and the octopus, which is crispy on the outside and delicately grilled on the inside. However – without reservation nothing works here at all.
